Setting a destination is always the first step of embarking on a journey, which is why My Viva Plan wouldn’t be complete without My Goals. The My Goals section of our health and wellness plan allows you to focus on your short-term and long-term goals by helping you keep them SMART — specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely. It’s important to keep this in mind when you go to set your goals. Your success in achieving your goals is directly connected to how often you review them!

Review your goals daily. Successful individuals keep their goals in the forefront of their minds and make daily decisions that lead them closer to their destination.

Reflections

The first 21 days of any behaviour change, whether it’s something you are really excited about or something you feel you just have to do, you will have days where you have negative thoughts about it. The good news is this is completely normal. In this case, you are being asked to start doing your My Viva Plan daily reflections! For those of you who journal, this may not be a challenge but if you are new to reflecting on your day, this may feel really uncomfortable and frustrating. What is also interesting to note is this — the higher your stress level the more negative thoughts you will have. Our experience as coaches has taught us that if you can just focus on taking one day at a time, each day will get easier and less annoying. Taking two minutes at the end of your day or the next morning to reflect will help you to see how your behaviours impact your successes and your struggles. Each day you are going to be learning how your behaviours and outcomes are all interconnected which will help you create a clear picture of your current world and give you clarity on what direction you wish to go. Behaviour change starts with one step at a time that if done consistently, will continue to lead you in the direction you truly wish to go.
